PITMAN, NJ --- Ramapo College sophomore
Jane Wagner (Summit, NJ/Summit) has been named both the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year for the 2021 season. Her selection highlighted the 14-member NJAC women’s cross country all-conference team which was announced after the conclusion of the 2021 NJAC Women’s Cross Country Championship on October 30.
All honors were determined based on individual placing at the 2021 NJAC Championship which was conducted at Stockton University.
Wagner claimed the NJAC individual championship by placing first in a field of 83 runners in the 6K race with a winning time of 23:46. The Summit native became the first-ever Ramapo woman to win the NJAC individual title and did so in just her first season on the collegiate cross country course.

Nick McDonough was selected as the NJAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year by his peers. McDonough guided the 2021 Ospreys to their second team title in program history; they last won the title in 2016. He guided five Ospreys to All-Conference honors, including individual runner-up Jessie Klenk. Stockton collected 39 points, edging team runner-up TCNJ by two in one of the closest races in an NJAC cross country championship.
