Salisbury Clinches at Least Share of NJAC Title, Automatic Bid to NCAA Tourney

EWING, NJ --- The No. 7/8 Salisbury University football team clinched at least a share of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship and the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Championship Tournament with a 62-20 win on November 9 over the TCNJ Lions.

With the win, the Sea Gulls claimed their second NJAC championship in their five-year associate membership in the league. The trip to the NCAA Tournament will be the 11th in program history.

Salisbury improves to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference with one regular season game remaining at William Paterson next week. The Sea Gulls have dominated this season, outscoring opponents 375-152 and putting up 60+ points on three different occasions.

A bit of history was set in today's game as well, with Octavion Wilson setting a new program record for receiving yards in a game. His 182 receiving yards today bested the previous mark of 159, reached on two occasions (1986, 1993).

The Sea Gulls will learn their NCAA opponent and location during the Division III Football Selection Show on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 5:30 PM. This year's national championship game is set for Sunday, Dec. 20, at Woodforest Stadium in Shenandoah, Texas.
