CAMDEN, N.J. – Junior forward/midfielder Kyle Adams struck in the 31st and 73rd minutes, and junior Kyle Quigley made six saves to become the Pioneers' career leader, to lift the sixth-seeded William Paterson men's soccer team (12-6-1, 4-5 NJAC) into the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament semifinals with a 2-1 first-round win at third-seeded Rutgers-Camden (13-5-2, 6-2-1 NJAC) Oct. 27. WP moves on to face second-seeded Ramapo (14-2-2, 6-2-1 NJAC) Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 2:00 p.m. in Mahwah.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Adams broke the scoreless tie at the 30:31 mark, receiving a cross from sophomore forward Christopher Fuentes that deflected off a Scarlet Raptor back and finishing with a high shot into the Rutgers-Camden goal.
• The Scarlet Raptors got the equalizer less than two minutes into the second half when sophomore midfielder Connor D'Ilio headed in Chris Taraska's long ball off a restart.
• Adams made it a 2-1 Pioneer advantage with 17:03 remaining, finishing the rebound of a Connor Sweeney shot off the crossbar.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Kyle Quigley made six saves for WP, bringing his career total to 197 to eclipse the previous Pioneer record of 195 (Dan Peragallo, 2006-09). He also rates fourth in shutouts (11)
• The win was the first for the Pioneers in the NJAC Tournament since a 2-1 overtime result at Rutgers-Newark during the 2011 first round.
• Adams' two goals increased his season total to four, and marked his third career multi-goal effort.
• WP's win snapped a two-match Rutgers-Camden win streak, including a 3-1 Scarlet Raptor home victory against the Pioneers Oct. 20.
