BROCKPORT, NY—Rocco Salomone, the former head football coach at The College at Brockport, died on February 4 in Brockport, NY. He turned 50 last month and had been battling a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer.

Salomone coached Brockport from 1995-2012, compiling an overall record of 103-80-1. During his final five seasons with the Golden Eagles, Brockport competed as an affiliate football member of the NJAC. Under his leadership, the Golden Eagles made four consecutive NCAA Division III playoff appearances (2000-03).

Salomone is survived by his wife, Kelly, daughters Cecilia and Victoria and son Joey. Funeral arrangements are pending.
