FORMER ROWAN STANDOUTS HALL & MEHIGAN INDUCTED INTO THE SOUTH JERSEY FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME

GLASSBORO–Former Rowan University football players Dino Hall and PJ Mehigan were inducted into the South Jersey Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on July 1. The ceremony took place at Masso’s Crystal Manor.

Hall was chosen for his performance as a professional player. He was signed by the Cleveland Browns in 1979 and competed in the National Football League for five years, primarily as a kick returner. At the time of his retirement in 1983, Hall held eight franchise records, including most kickoff return yards in a game (172), season (1,014) and career (3,185).

A running back, he played at the University from 1976-78. Hall was a two-time New Jersey State College Athletic Conference (NJSCAC) All-Conference first team selection and was named the 1978 NJSCAC Athlete of the Year as a running back. He was also the 1978 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Year and was an American Football Coaches Association and Associated Press All-American. Hall was a member of the 1978 ECAC Metro NY/NJ Region All-Star team. He still holds the school record for most rushing yards in a game with 255.

Mehigan earned the honor for his success as a high school coach. A graduate of Cherokee High School, he has led his alma mater to four South Jersey Group IV Championships (2005, 2009, 2010 and 2013). Mehigan’s record is 105-28 in 12 seasons at the helm of the Chiefs. They have also won five conference championships.

Mehigan was a linebacker at Rowan from 1993-95. The Profs won the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship and advanced to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in 1993 and 1995. Mehigan accumulated 259 tackles, 10 for a loss (-19 yards), three sacks (-20 yards), four forced fumbles and four interceptions. In 1994, he led the team with 104 tackles. He was selected to the NJAC All-Conference first second team in 1994 and All-Conference first team in 1995.
