PITMAN—The second and final year of the MAC-NJAC Challenge wrapped up on September 13 when FDU-Florham defeated TCNJ, 18-12. In 2012, each conference won four games in the series, but the MAC held the upper hand in 2013, winning five-of the-seven contests played.
How even was last year's Challenge? In addition to each conference winning four-of-the-eight games, the eight MAC programs scored a combined 178 points, while the eight NJAC programs scored a combined 176 points. In 2013, the MAC programs outscored the NJAC programs cumulatively, 160-144.
The two conferences continued their tradition of extremely close play against one another. In 50 meetings between members of the two leagues dating back to the 2002 season, each conference has prevailed in 25 of those head-to-head match-ups.
