TCNJ'S KISS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

EWING–The College of New Jersey’s women’s swimmer, senior Ava Kiss was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large Second Team for her accomplishments in the pool and in the classroom.

An art history major at TCNJ with a 3.24 gpa, Kiss etched her name into program history when she became the College’s first NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming national champion when she set a national Division III record in capturing the 2008 title in the 100 butterfly in 55.08.

A member of the Lions’ 2008 Metropolitan Conference Championship Team, Kiss caps her career having earned five All-America citations. A four-time TCNJ Scholar-Athlete, Kiss holds four individual school records and was a three-time team MVP.

Named the Team and Metropolitan Conference Rookie of the Year in 2005, Kiss is also part of a school record holding relay team and was named the Most Valuable Swimmer at the 2006 ECAC Division III Championships.
