ASSISTANT SOFTBALL COACH (PART-TIME)
Under the direct supervision of the Head Softball Coach, the softball assistant will assist in the administration and supervision of the program. Duties will include assisting the head coach in the planning and conduct of team practices, attendance at all team contests, home and away, monitoring and inventory of uniforms and equipment, academic monitoring, recruitment of student athletes, scouting games, participating and coordinating fundraising projects and special events, and record keeping. Position availability: New Jersey City University, an NCAA Division III school in Jersey City, New Jersey, is seeking applications for the position of Pitching Coach for the baseball program. This is a part-time position. Responsibilities: Will assist the head coach with all aspects of operating a competitive NCAA baseball program, including on-field coaching in practice and games, and recruiting with specific attention towards developing the pitching staff. Additional duties as assigned by the head coach and/or Director of Athletics. Qualifications: Effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with other coaches and student-athletes are required. ATHLETIC TRAINING INTERNSHIPS (2 POSITIONS)
The William Paterson University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites applicants for the 10-month position of Athletic Trainer Intern (two positions available). William Paterson is a NCAA Division III program with 13 intercollegiate teams, is a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and is a CAATE accredited athletic training program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the daily operation of the WPU athletic training room, including assisting with the prevention, evaluation, emergency care, treatment , and rehabilitation of student-athletes; attending and supervising home athletic contests and practices for the purpose of student-athlete care; maintaining student-athlete injury and treatment records; assisting with the implementation of the IMPACT baseline testing program; and assisting with insurance claims. Requirements: bachelor’s degree; NATA Board of Certification (BOC) certification; eligible for New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners athletic trainer’s license; and current CPR, AED, First Aid Basics (or equivalent) certifications. Night and weekend hours are required. The candidate must be accepted to one of 21 graduate programs offered at the University. Benefits include tuition and fees waiver for nine credits per semester, and an annual stipend of $6,000. Position is renewable annually. Start date is August 9, 2010.
