PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 27.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DINO RADONCIC • Ramapo College
Senior • Forward • Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Memorial
Radoncic has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 3 goals as Ramapo went 2-0. The senior forward put all 5 of his shots on target for the week. He scored twice, including the game-winner, in a 9-0 win over Saint Elizabeth. He then opened the scoring in a 2-1 victory over St. Thomas (TX). Radoncic is tied for second in the NJAC in both goals (6) and points (14).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SEBASTIAN LAPCZYNSKI • Montclair State University
Junior • Defender • Garfield, NJ/Garfield
Lapczynski claims NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring Montclair State's back line in a 6-0 rout of previously unbeaten Christopher Newport. The junior defender helped the Red Hawks post the shutout while limiting the Captains to just three shots on goal. He also drew a penalty in the 23rd minute and converted the PK that stood as the game-winning goal. Montclair State has yet to allow a goal at home this season, going four matches without conceding, and has yielded just five through the first month of the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOSEPH ZUBERT • Rutgers University-Camden
Freshman • Goalkeeper • Pitman, NJ/Pitman
Zubert earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after making eight saves to preserve Rutgers-Camden's 1-0 win over Alvernia. The freshman goalkeeper stopped every shot he faced over 90 minutes for the clean sheet. He currently ranks tied for second among NJAC keepers with two shutouts so far this year.
