NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Damitrius Hester was cited by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as its Division III National Athlete of the Week.

Hester is fresh off breaking his own school record in the javelin at last weekend's Embry Riddle Running Elements Classic as the junior threw the #4 all-time Division III mark of 73.29 meters. His top effort sits at #1 in Division III this season.

Hester, who was also named the NJAC Men's Track & Field Field Athlete of the Week for his record-breaking performance, broke the previous mark he set on March 28th at the Stockton Invitational (72.04 meters).

Rowan's Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams resume action this Saturday here at home in the 11th annua Oscar Moore Invitational.
