Montclair State Quartet, Rowan's Giordano Earn Major Awards as Women's Soccer All-Conference Team Announced

PITMAN, NJ --- Montclair State University senior forward Kylie Prendergast (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year to headline an impressive slate of award winners and all-conference honorees.

Additionally, Montclair State junior Shannon Mullins (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) was tabbed Midfielder of the Year; Rowan University junior Julianna Giordano (Millville, NJ/Millville) was named Defensive Player of the Year; Montclair State sophomore Salange Bell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair Kimberley Academy) is the Goalkeeper of the Year; Montclair State freshman Carly Guzzardo (Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro) is the Rookie of the Year; and Montclair State's head coach Patrick Naughter and his staff were tabbed the Joe Russo Coaching Staff of the Year.

In total, 47 student-athletes earned all-conference recognition for the fall 2025 season. All-conference and major award selections were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches and were based on conference-only performances.

Prendergast, a four-time First Team All-Conference selection and two-time Offensive Player of the Week, capped her brilliant career with another dominant offensive performance. In conference play, she recorded 22 points on nine goals and four assists, leading Montclair State's potent attack. The senior forward fired 25 shots with 18 on goal and recorded three game-winning goals in nine conference games. Prendergast's consistent ability to create scoring chances and finish opportunities made her the focal point of one of the conference's most explosive offenses.

Mullins, a former NJAC Rookie of the Year, put together a spectacular season to earn Midfielder of the Year honors with elite offensive production from the midfield. In conference play, the junior tallied 15 points on seven goals and one assist, leading all NJAC midfielders in conference-only scoring. Her 32 conference shots with 14 on goal both ranked first among midfielders as well. Mullins was credited with a game-winning goal in the Red Hawks’ win over Kean. Her constant pressure and box-to-box energy made her a threat every time she touched the ball.

Giordano concludes another outstanding season as a four-time All-Conference honoree and three-time First Team selection, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors. The junior back anchored a Rowan defense that allowed just four goals in nine conference games while posting a .765 team save percentage, the best in the NJAC. In conference play, Giordano contributed nine points on three goals and three assists, adding a game-winning goal to her defensive excellence. A three-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week, she led a Rowan squad that went unbeaten in NJAC play and earned the No. 2 seed in the NJAC tournament.

Bell earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors for the second time in her career with sensational statistics. In conference play, the sophomore posted a 0.70 goals against average with an .854 save percentage, making 35 saves while recording four shutouts and compiling a perfect 7-0-2 record. Bell helped anchor a Montclair State defense that allowed just six goals in nine conference games. She was a Week 3 NJAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Guzzardo made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning NJAC Rookie of the Year honors with an impressive debut season. She was a key part of a Montclair State defense that allowed just six goals in nine conference games with an .854 team save percentage, second-highest in the NJAC. In conference play, the back recorded six points on six assists, demonstrating terrific playmaking ability from the defensive position. She earned Week 9 NJAC Rookie of the Week honors.

Naughter along with assistants Erin Sullivan and Nicole Carbone guided Montclair State to a spectacular season, earning Joe Russo Coaching Staff of the Year honors. The coaching staff developed a well-balanced team that excelled on both sides of the ball, with multiple players earning major awards and all-conference recognition. In conference play, Montclair State posted a 7-0-2 record while scoring 29 goals and allowing just six. The Red Hawks won the NJAC regular season title and earned the top seed in the NJAC tournament.
