Rowan Captures the 2017-18 NJAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship

EWING—The Rowan University men’s swimming & diving team captured the 2017-18 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship with a 167.5-132.5 road win at rival TCNJ on January 27. The victory gave the Profs their second straight conference title and their 15th overall since 1972-73.

Due to the fact that the NJAC does not conduct a championship meet in the sport of men’s swimming & diving, the conference title is awarded to the team with the best record in conference dual-meet competition. Rowan claimed the league crown by going undefeated (4-0) in conference meets for the second straight season.

The Profs opened the season with conference victories over William Paterson (168-73) and Ramapo (198-76) on back-to-back dates of November 10-11. After a sixty-seven day break between NJAC meets, Rowan defeated Montclair State (204-94) on January 13 before clinching the league crown two weeks later at TCNJ.

The two-time defending NJAC Champion Profs will open their 2018-19 season riding an eight-meet conference winning-streak including victories in 11-of-their-last-12 NJAC competitions.
