GLASSBORO—The Rowan women’s lacrosse team garnered a 12-10 win over Montclair State on May 6 to capture the 2010 NJAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The Profs posted a 5-0 record in conference play and claimed just the second league title ever awarded in the sport of women’s lacrosse.
Rowan, which finished its regular season with an 11-5 overall record, posted five NJAC victories in a span of just 28 days. The Profs recorded three-of-their-five league wins in just a seven-day period, including a home win over Ramapo on April 8 (19-5), a road victory at Kean on April 10 (14-3), and a road win at rival TCNJ on April 15 (12-11). Head coach Lindsay Delaney’s squad recorded a road win at NJAC newcomer Rutgers-Camden on April 22 (18-3), and claimed the conference crown outright with the victory over the Red Hawks.
In total, the Profs outscored their conference opponents 75-32 en route to claiming the NJAC title.
