PITMAN—Four NJAC women’s lacrosse players have been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll for the 2010 season. The IWLCA Academic Honor Roll honored 184 student-athletes from 81 different All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.

PITMAN--The College of New Jersey has been selected as the favorite to win the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship in a preseason poll of the league’s six head coaches. The 2009 NJAC Champion Lions will be seeking their 28th straight conference crown since the inception of women’s tennis as a league sport in 1982. With a perfect 5-0 conference record in 2009, TCNJ extended its NJAC winning-streak to 131 consecutive league matches - a streak that spans the entire history of conference play.

PITMAN--After capturing the 2009 NJAC Championship en route to a 27-12 overall record, Richard Stockton College  was selected as the 2010 preseason women’s volleyball favorite in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Ospreys will be seeking their third consecutive NJAC championship and their seventh conference crown since 1996.

PITMAN--After capturing the 2009 NJAC Championship en route to a 14-5 overall record, Rowan University has been selected as the 2010 preseason field hockey favorite in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Profs will be seeking their seventh conference crown since 1998.

8.17.2010 | Women's Lacrosse

PITMAN—The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on August 16 that Rowan and TCNJ were two of 64 teams in NCAA Division III that were recognized with IWLCA Academic Squad honors for the 2010 season. To receive the IWLCA honor, a team was required to achieve a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2010 season.  Full Release.

PITMAN--After capturing the 2009 NJAC Championship en route to a 20-3-1 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament National Semifinals, The College of New Jersey has been selected as the 2010 preseason women’s soccer favorite in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Lions will be seeking their 14th NJAC crown since 1994.

PITMAN--After capturing their fourth consecutive NJAC Championship in 2009 en route to a 17-2-2 overall record, Montclair State University was selected as the 2010 preseason men’s soccer favorite in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Red Hawks, who also claimed the 2009 NJAC regular season championships via a league-best 7-1-1 NJAC record, will be seeking their 11th conference title since 1961.

JERSEY CITY—NJCU head women’s basketball coach Ashante Timoll, who will enter her sixth season at the helm of the Gothic Knights this season, was recently selected by the Black Coaches and Administrators Board of Directors to participate in the 2010 BCA “Achieving Coaching Excellence” (ACE) program.
